Programme - Stage 3 review; June 2014

An excellent course which I would certainly recommend to all professionals.  This course provided a lot of training and knowledge in the time invested.  It contained excellent course material with very professional tuition and in a nice training environment.  Over all I was very impressed and I would highly recommend the course to all personnel involved within the decontamination role no matter how many years experience, a refresher is always important.  First class!!!

Dear Decon Solutions,

I wish to thank you for the training given to my staff in July 2012.

The enthusiasm for the staff after the Training Programme has been remarkable, there is a better understanding of their roles as technicians, the part they play in the compliance to the Quality System and the National Standards of which we in the industry of decontamination have to comply and administer.

The staff are now proactive in coming forwards with suggestions on improving work methods and their improvements and ensuring they comply and adhere to Department Procedures, to the point

Training covers all aspects of decontamination processes including quality management system, legal requirements, health and safety and customer relations. So far 8 candidates were trained and successfully completed. I highly recommend this unique training as its different from TVQ/NVQ-its taught for 3 days and at the end there is an exam. Staff, have to work hard and feedback is very positive. Top qualities: Great Results, Personable, Expert."

Re: Decon Solutions Decontamination Training Programme

In October 2011 we hosted a trial session of the Decon Solutions decontamination training programme. Five of our technicians, ranging from relative beginners to very experienced, attended the three-day course, with me sitting in as observer. As it proved very successful the programme has been rolled out into a monthly fixture with a small group ranging from trainee technicians to supervisors. The feedback from each group has been consistently good.

Content
The course covers all aspects of decontamination relevant to sterile services staff. The legal & regulatory background is explained, covering laws, national & international standards, plus relevant guidance (e.g. HBN13). This has been updated to include the new CfPP's. Technical processes and equipment are dealt with across the board.

Delivery
The focus is on face-to-face teaching, allowing for staff with different learning speeds (for staff who don't have English as a first language, for example). There are frequent reviews to ensure staff are following the tutorial, and questions/ comments are actively encouraged.

Convenience
Our chief worry was having a group of staff committed for the full three days. In practice this has been less of an issue than we thought. Also, because of the breadth of the course it is less challenging logistically than arranging a multitude of more narrowly-focussed 1-day sessions.

Comparison
We considered several sources of external training, but having chosen Decon Solutions we are satisfied that we chose well. Having the training delivered on-site has been a bonus in this respect. The course content compares very favourably with other providers, scoring particularly highly in the breadth of information provided.

Credibility
There are few people with Martin Williams' range of knowledge and practical experience, and it has been immensely valuable for our staff to have the opportunity to share this. All our candidates have been impressed not merely by his knowledge but also by the way he passes it on. His obvious understanding of decontamination issues adds impact to the basic facts & figures, and I have had nothing but positive feedback from our team.
City & Guilds recognition adds value to the certificates awarded to successful candidates

Value for money
Again, compared with other external providers, we consider that we get excellent value for money from Decon Solutions. Having a monthly session for a small number of staff enables us to spread costs, plus cuts administrative costs & time.

In short, I have no hesitation in recommending this programme
